New opportunities

Dear member,

Welcome to your first newsletter update from your HGFA. There have been many requests over the recent months from members asking to hear more from the board and more importantly that new methods of communication are used that will also help reduce overheads.

So here we are trialling this new system that complies fully with today's privacy regulations and will also hopefully help us promote this sport we are all passionate about.

We will be asking for feedback as we aren't the only ones that have ideas.

This membership has many talented people from all areas of society that hopefully will be encouraged to help promote ideas and time to make these solutions come to life to help make our sports attractive to new and past members.

Safe flying

Your HGFA Web site under attack

Alt

We regret to inform you all that the HGFA web site has been reported as having a link issue from the forums with Google so you may get a pop up blocker as shown here.

We are currently working to have the site scanned and repaired and re-listed with Google.

So in the meantime this may be one of the most important vehicles for keeping you up to date with the most current updates and developments.

What has the HGFA been up to?

We are hearing more and more members requesting to know what the board is up to and the decisions that are being made on your behalf.

As tasks are completed we have them posted to the latest news on the HGFA home page and news links.

To find out more please go to our page on
the HGFA web site.

New Web site features

There are two new important features on the HGFA web site we would like you to have a look at.

The first on the left hand navigation is Defect Reports which brings up a list of all the latest defect notices which are important for all of us to check in on.

The second item is the inclusion of our online Accident & Incident Reports. The link is on the home page above special projects.

Our aim is to make this process easier to file an Accident or Incident which in the end is to benefit all of us through greater understanding of how these events occur and possible ways to prevent future occurrences.

Spread the passion

As this is a trial run we are looking feedback or suggestions for content that we would use in supplementing the drier content of the HGFA updates. The ideal would be that anyone reading this newsletter would be inspired to forward this newsletter on to friends and family. The rub-off would hopefully be more new pilots.

There could be space for anyone trying to develop or promote a great new adventure. Or instructors looking to promote training camps or overseas trips. This can be done by having pages on sites and simple messages linking to those events or promotions.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Open all hours...

Being on the board can be rather lonely. We have seen a number of forums promoting a lot of misinformation, half truths and rumours from some unhappy pilots.

Very few have ever bothered to talk directly with a board member either by email or simply by picking up the phone. Those that have have been are mostly satisfied that their questions have been answered appropriately.

After all we are simply members, like you, that for what ever reason chosen to represent their sport.

So if you ever have a question, look us up on the HGFA web site.
